Umeh stated that the implementation of the National Conference
resolutions would reposition the Igbo structurally in Nigeria and urged
Ndigbo to support the re-election of President Jonathan to facilitate
the actualisation of the resolutions.
Noting that the All Progressives Congress (APC) dissociated itself
and stayed away from the National Conference, where the future and unity
of the nation was openly discussed, Umeh said a Federal Government
under the leadership of APC would throw the resolution to the trash bin.
He said: “It is clear that since the APC opposed the conference, it
would be foolhardy of anyone to think the party would talk about confab
recommendations if elected.”
The APGA boss commended President Jonathan for taking up the
challenge of organising the conference, which many leaders before him
dared not discuss and pleaded with Nigerians to massively vote to
re-elect Jonathan to enable him implement the recommendations of the
conference for a new Nigeria where justice, fairness and equal rights
prevail.
