Barcelona's Gerard Pique fined £7,600 for abusing police officers during row in which he allegedly said: "You are envious of me because I am famous

Gerard Pique has been fined €10,500 (£7,600) for behaving in a 'derogatory' way with police officers.
The Barcelona and Spain defender was reprimanded after a row outside a nightclub in October triggered by the city's traffic police fining his brother for parking in a bus lane.
According to the police report, Pique is alleged to have said to the officer: "You are envious of me because I am famous."
He is also alleged to have branded the officers a 'f***ing embarrasment' during the spat and said he would call their bosses and get the parking fine dropped.
Judge María Asunción González fined Piqué for “derogatory behaviour and for being verbally aggressive”.
The 28 year-old World Cup winner earns around £110,000-a-week at the Catalan club and has two children with Colombian singer Shakira.
